Windermere Oaks News & Updates

One of the goals of the "Friends of Windermere" is to promote transparency in our neighborhood.  The Candidates for 2022 election (for which you will soon receive a ballot) are featured on the "Candidates" link.

Please vote for these 6 outstanding individuals as well as voting ("NO") on the Bylaw and Restriction Amendments.

To promote transparency and inclusivity, we hope to clarify the agenda (below) of the upcoming (Jan/Feb) vote which should culminate at the Annual Meeting.  You will be voting on 3 topics — each integral to positive forward movement of this community.

  • Proposed BYLAW changes — VOTE “NO” on all Bylaw changes.  Most of the changes relate to adding “at the discretion of the board” clauses which give greater control to a small group of individuals over community decisions.  The bylaw changes you will vote  specifically deal with elections & voting parameters which would leave procedures open to gross manipulation. MORE INFO HERE

  • Amendment to the 2nd Amendment of the Restrictive Covenants — You paid for certain rights when you bought your property. Don't let them take away your rights to satisfy the interests of a handful of individuals.  83% of 77 Spicewood/Austin realtors surveyed said their clients think allowing STRs is a positive.  MORE INFO HERE
VOTE “NO” on the change to restrictions.

  • WOPOA 2022 BOARD of DIRECTORS – the entire current Board is up for re-election. Let’s bring in new faces and reset our community on the right path. 75% of Windermere Property Owners do not live in Windermere full time. Vote for a Board that will represent & protect everyone’s interests, not just a small group of people who live in Windermere full time.
