HOLD ONTO YOUR WALLETS!  Jeff Walker & Rene Ffrench, with their legal attacks, are the cause of higher rates. They ironically have "protested" the higher rates (that they've caused) which has added to rates. Their idea of "how-to pay" for the defense debt (they've caused) is to sell your water company to a Commercial entity. This will ultimately COST MORE out of your pocket!  This does not make sense . . .  (See Lawsuits to understand how they've cost you.)

NELSON & GIMENEZ have helped implement:
  • Online Billing and Payment for customers
  • 7-years of perfect water (EPA regulated & enforced by TCEQ)
  • New 125,000 gallon water storage tank to accommodate growth of community, from current 290 members to up to 610 members in future
  • Retrofitting old 125,000 gallon storage tank to serve as new clarifier, to eventually replace 30-year old, 30,000 gallon tank.
  • Secured $14,000 LCRA conservation grant with WOWSC match of $34,000 -- The WSC has saved $9,000/year for last two years and savings are achieved year going forward
  • Zebra mussel mitigation -- installing filtration systems to keep ZMs out of tanks and processing equipment. Received LCRA and TPWD approvals for plans to dispose of ZMs in Lake Travis.
  • Repaired and improved wastewater dispersal fields
  • Completed water intake barge rebuild and repairs
  • New water treatment plant backup generator — kept the power on when so many local communities were without water during the snowpocalypse
  • Interconnection between WO & Ridge Harbor established for emergency backup pressurization assistance
  • New SCADA system (WOWSC Water Treatment Plant computer system)
  • Installed new security system
  • Secured $650,000 in 20 year loans at 3.25-4 percent for plant equipment; lowered monthly payments from almost $5000 to about $4,000 -- for more money. This spread cost of future use of equipment to future customers.
  • Refinanced loan lowering interest rate — $200,000 of the above loan went to pay off old loan at 4.75 percent, maturing in 2021.
  • Secured financing for capital projects -- see above
  • Initiated independent Financial assessment of WOWSC (see: New Gen Strategies & Solutions report),
  • Implemented recommendations of New Gen report, creating a WOWSC Financial Policy, establishing financial policy for future board's administration
  • Created the WOWSC Conflict of Interest Policy
  • Worked with SAPA (Spicewood Airport Pilots Association) to add (at their cost) additional waste water dispersal area
  • Completed all of the WOWSC 5 year plan from 2019 and has been updating plans with future planning​
